The saga of the Eden Group,now the leading real estate company in Kolkata,began early in the 19th century when the Late Bansidhar Modi migrated from Rajasthan to Assam (circa 1870) and set up a small business. His son, Late Badridass Modi, a visionary entrepreneur, first established a business in hardware trade. He went on to establish a Tea business having foreseen an opportunity in the sunrise sector as early as 1920. He successfully setup a bouquet of Tea estates and factories. Over the past 20 years, the Eden Group,Kolkata, has since diversified into Real Estate, Textile Manufacturing and Information Technology.
